The “Faux Pas” Adventure

Like to hear it?  Here it go!

Some time during the summer of 2011, we decided it was time to create something ORIGINAL.  We’d worked on a few branding projects that asked us write original material, but none of which were 100% original short films.

We knew that whatever the film project would become, we wanted to collaborate with our friends who were follow creators – musicians, clothing designers, and artists.  We figured, we shared similar creative interests and tastes, we might as well share a project in some way.

So, we wrote the script, began casting, shot a teaser, and launched a Kickstarter campaign.  Our friends at Sir & Madame Chicago would provide the wardrobe, Brookyln’s own, The Stuyvesants and Chicago’s Keanon Terrell would provide the score, and Drew of Enstrumental Clothing joined us as an Executive Producer.  We launched the Kickstarter campaign with a party at The House of Blues’ Foundation Room, and the show was on the road…

We had some great nights rehearsing on location, and an even better time filming in early 2012.  Although it took some time to arrive at our final cut in 2013, it was a wonderful journey in production.

In August of 2013, our film festival run began – with 4 consecutive weeks of screenings.  First was Martha’s Vineyard African American Film Festival, next up was Blackstar Film Festival in Philadelphia, followed by Black Harvest Film Festival back home in Chicago (2 screenings).  We took a break and screened at the Hollywood Black Film Festival in October.

We’re incredibly proud of our work, and met some great people across our summer festival tour.  Check out Faux Pas’ Website for cast & crew bios, and updates, and the film’s Facebook page for photos and more…

All that said, here’s the film’s trailer and tagline.  Enjoy!

A love affair between Cedric and his good friend Tiffany leads him to end his current relationship in pursuit of one with her. Unfortunately, she thinks they made a huge mistake.
